Volunteer Positions

Caddies: The Championship will include 156 Players many of whom will request volunteer Caddies. Caddies assigned to a player will remain with the player for both practice and qualifying rounds as well as Match Play rounds. Caddies will be the ONLY paid volunteer position, caddies may expect to be paid $40.00 per round plus gratuity. Caddie Qualifications include:

  • Must be at least 15 years of age
  • Must have a knowledge of the game of golf and the Rules of Golf
  • Must have previous golf experience

Definition: A Caddie is one who assists the player in accordance with the Rules of Golf, which may include carrying or handling the player's clubs during play. (2008-2009 USGA Rules of Golf)

Caddies will be asked to complete a Caddie specific Application in addition to the on-line volunteer registration on this website.

Caddie Hospitality: Assist with caddie registration, daily check in, distribution of caddie bibs and other supplies.

Course Evacuation: In the event of foul weather resulting in a suspension of play, players, caddies, rules officials, standard bearers will be evacuated to the Club house and returned to the course when play is resumed. Course Evacuation volunteers will be responsible for driving vans and or assisting with clearing the course and returning players to the course after the 'all clear' is signaled by the USGA.

Hospitality: Assist with all areas of hospitality responsibilities may include but are not limited to Locker Room (must be female), volunteer check -in, security around restricted areas, distribution of Scooters for disabled spectators, other miscellaneous tasks, etc.

Marshals/Forecaddies: Facilitate player and fan movement on the golf course, spot errant shots.

Practice Facilities: Assist players on driving range and practice areas.

Registration: Register players upon their arrival (Friday 8/1 - Saturday 8/2).

Scoreboard: Assist Scoring operations including official scorer at the scoreboard.

Security: Limit access to clubhouse, locker room and media center.

Transportation: Provide transportation for players, staff and guests to and from off-site locations to the Championship. Must be 25 years of age and have a valid driver's license.

Volunteer Services: Staff the volunteer hospitality area and provide information to all volunteers.

Walking Scorer: Accompany each group and enter hole-by-hole scores into a hand-held device. Must be over 18 years of age and have previous golf experience.

Standard Bearers: Carry Standard and post after each hole, status of match. Need to be available Wednesday through Sunday. These volunteers must be in good physical condition to carry Standard.

Parking: Assist with parking lot operations.
