The U.S. Women's Amateur Championship marks the beginning of women's competitive golf in this country. And today's impressive field of women amateurs continues the tradition of highly charged aggressive golf. Eugene Country Club will be the stage for a full week of incredible play.
Play begins on Monday, August 4th with all 156 players for two days of stroke qualifying rounds. By Wednesday, the field will be cut to 64 players who will play 32 matches. On Thursday there will be 16 matches in the morning and the remaining 16 players will play 8 matches that afternoon. Friday will be the date of the four quarterfinal matches. The semifinal matches will be held on Saturday.
Don't miss witnessing the crowning of the new champion on the final day of competition, Sunday August 10th, when the remaining two players will meet for the final 36-hole championship match for the title and the coveted Robert Cox Trophy.
