The Fans Gallery Guide

Fans at the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship will have the unique opportunity to "walk in the footsteps" of the players. Unlike most other tournaments and championships, fans can follow their favorite players down the fairway.

Of course, the standard golf courtesies are still important to remember:

  1. When a player is addressing her ball, keep silent and do not move until her stroke is completed - whether on the fairway or on the green.
  2. Keep a respectful distance from the players you are following to keep from distracting them from preparing for their next stroke.
  3. The teeing grounds and the greens are still off-limits to spectators. While you may follow your player down the fairway you must stay behind the ropes at all greens.
  4. Cameras and cell phones are prohibited on the course during the Championship.
  5. Smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages are not allowed at any time on the course.
  6. Food and beverages will be available at the concession stand. Please discard all trash in the designated containers along the fairways.
  7. Most players will be thrilled to be asked for their autograph so be prepared with pen in-hand. The best time to reach the most players is during their practice rounds on Saturday August 4th and Sunday, August 5th. Once the Championship has begun on Monday morning, the only time to approach a player will be on the practice range or after her round is completed. Never approach a player during an official round.

So, come out and follow your favorite players as they compete - you will see why they are the best women amateur players in the world.
